Daekyo Celebrates 50th Anniversary, Embarking on a New Journey Toward a 100-Year Legacy
Daekyo announced that it held its 50th anniversary ceremony on the 9th at Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, sharing its vision for a new phase of evolution toward becoming a 100-year-old company while building on the educational principles it has upheld over the past five decades.
Founded 50 years ago as the Korea Official Mathematics Research Association, Daekyo has helped transform Korea’s education services industry through its “Eye-Level” educational philosophy, which tailors learning to each learner’s individual level and pace. Moving forward, the company plans to expand the scope of learning into areas such as AI- and digital-based future education, senior lifestyle care, and cultural content, creating new educational value for a changing society.
The anniversary ceremony was organized to reflect on the significance of the company’s 50-year history and share its growth strategy for the next 50 years. Approximately 600 executives and employees from the Daekyo Group attended the event, which was also livestreamed on YouTube.
The ceremony opened with a commemorative video celebrating the company’s founding, followed by a congratulatory address from Kang Young-joong, honorary chairman and founder of the Daekyo Group, and a CEO message from Daekyo President Kang Ho-jun.
Kang Young-joong said, “Daekyo has overcome numerous crises and changes over the past 50 years to reach where it is today, thanks to the dedication of our employees and the trust of our customers. I hope the company will continue to deeply understand its customers and build a new chapter in its history over the next 50 years as a 100-year education company.”
Kang Ho-jun added, “Daekyo’s past 50 years have been a journey of continuous evolution to preserve the essence of education. Even as education expands into the realms of culture and experience, Daekyo will remain rooted in education and continue to take the lead in exploring the learning needs of each era.”
During the ceremony, the company recognized long-serving employees and presented the special “We’re Glad You’re Here” Appreciation Awards to express gratitude for their dedication and contributions.
The event was followed by an internal conference titled “Dugeun Dugeun Conference,” where the company shared key business strategies and its vision for responding to the rapidly changing educational landscape.
